Burlington Industries Retiree Was Glasgow Baptist Church Member

Richard Coleman Moore, 77, of Glasgow, Virginia, died on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born on July 2, 1935, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Harry Etchison Moore and Effie Carter Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Gibson Moore; one brother, Delbert Moore; and one sister, Sadie E. Law.

Richard was an active member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries after 50 years of service.

Surviving are his two sons, Greg Moore, of Roanoke, and Jay Moore and wife, Kelly, of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandchildren, Bradley Moore and Brielle Moore; and one brother, Joseph Moore, of Lexington.

A funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Glasgow Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Kilgore officiating. Burial followed at Glasgow Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the service time at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Glasgow Baptist Church.
