Retired Self-Employed Beautician Was Iron Gate United Methodist Church Member

Kathryn Joyce Ball, age 82, of 103 Ferrol Street Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born August 24, 1930 in Hinton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James Craig and Alverta Dick Eubank.

She was a member of the Iron Gate United Methodist Church, a retired self-employed beautician, a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed the Tuesday Afternoon Bridge club, was an avid golfer and a member of the Cliftondale Country Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buell Burks Ball in January of 2009.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Crawford and husband, Earl of Glen Wilton, and Paula Thurston and husband, Tony of Covington; two sons, Gregory Burks Ball and wife, Denise of Clifton Forge, and Joe Ball and wife, Vicki of Mt Sydney; eight grandchildren, Melissa Fisher and husband, Chris, of Clifton Forge, Jason Ball and wife, Miranda of Weyer's Cave, Erik Crawford and wife, Mary of Buchannan, Lee Williams and wife, Angel of Clifton Forge, Alan Crawford of Glen Wilton, Todd Williams and wife, Carrie of Clifton Forge, Brent Ball and wife, April of Covington, and Amy Steele and husband,Ross of Mint Springs; nine great-grandchildren, Addison, Travis, Joseph, Keaton, Caleb, Connor, Carleigh, Camden, and McKenzie; a sister, Mary Carol Meadows of Hinton, West Virginia; a brother, Dan Eubank and wife, Nancy of Jacksonville, FL; and special friends, Clyde and Becky Helmintoller.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Reverend W. Pembrook Hall and Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating. Entombment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor.

Active pallbearers will be Lee Williams, Todd Williams, Erik Crawford, Brent Ball, Alan Crawford, Jason Ball, Ross Steele, and Chris Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Choir of Iron Gate United Methodist Church, Charlie Dodd, James Shires, Clyde Helmintoller, Don Roberts, and Freddie Brackenridge.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in her memory to the Iron Gate United Methodist Church P.O. Box 190 Iron Gate, Virginia 24448.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday from Nicely Funeral Home Chapel.
