Catherine (Alice) Graybeal Richards, 73, of Glasgow, Vvirginia, went to be with the Lord, at home surrounded by her family on January 12, 2013.

She was born April 12, 1939, in Renick, West Virginia.

She was a loving MawMaw and mother. She will be greatly missed by many family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Larrie and Thena Graybeal and by her husband, Carson H. Richards Jr. Also by her sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Stanley Doyle; brothers, Walter Lee Graybeal, Larry Brown Graybeal, John Fields Graybeal, and brothers-in-law, Vance T. Richards and Frank Ford.

Mrs. Richards was a graduate of Dunsmore Business College.

Alice is survived by her son, John Richards and wife, Sarah of Glasgow; granddaughter, Jani Hostetter and husband, Jason of Lexington; and grandson, Carson W. Richards of Glasgow.

She is also survived by sister, Zella Ford of Lewisburg, West Virginia and two sisters-in-law, Louise Graybeal of Renick, West Virginia, Cornelia Richards of Luray, Virginia; and ten wonderful nieces and nephews.

Alice will also be greatly missed by her "special sons and daughters," Joey Watterson and wife, Tonia of Fairfield, Virginia, Keith Martin and wife, Kristy of Buena Vista, Virginia, Gary Reed and wife, Denise of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, Robert Humphreys Jr. also of Buena Vista, Virginia; and Stevie Dunn and wife, Danielle of Glasgow.

She will also be greatly missed by her loyal beagle Belle, and cats, Tigger and Slyvester.

She will also be greatly missed by a wonderful extended family, too numerous to name, and many special friends.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. Louis Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
