Alleghany County Native Dies At Age 97

Mrs. Ina Humphries Westerman Dunn, 97, of Vinton, Virginia, died on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

She was the wife of the late Edward C. Dunn.

Mrs. Dunn was born on October 11, 1915, in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Oscar Bervie Humphries and Stella Rae Humphries.

Mrs. Dunn is survived by one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Casey, of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Robert J. Humphries, of Rockville, Allen Dale Humphries, of Derbyshire, England, Karen Humphries Peters, of Copper Hill, and Linda Humphries Butts, of Roanoke; one stepgrandson, Brian Pinel; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, I. Ray Humphries ,of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by one son; five brothers; and six sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, January 18, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Grace Brethren Church, 2507 S. Carpenter Drive, Covington, VA 24426 or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia, 2224 South Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24014.
