Samuel F. Broughman, 52, of Covington, Virginia, went to be with the Lord January 17, 2013.

He was born November 10, 1960.

He was the son of the late Grover Broughman, Sr. and Mary Broughman Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Campbell, and a brother, Grover Broughman, Jr.

He is survived by a special friend, Donna Kimberlin, of Iron Gate; two sisters, Bethany Broughman and her friend, Alvin Helmintoller, and Nelda Wills, of Ridgeley, WV.

He is also survived by a stepfather, Thomas Gibson and stepbrother, Billy Gibson and wife, Teresa, of Covington.

Special thanks to Richard Hoffman and Heather Caldwell for all the help and care they have given to him.

Sammy is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in her memory to the Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P.O. Box 637 Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to the Covington Dialysis Patient Emergency Fund, C/O Dawn Wilson 2504 Valley Ridge Road, Covington, VA 24426.

At his request, Sammy will be cremated.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Nicely's Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

Visitation was held prior to the service from 1-2.
