Dewey Barker Roberts, 91, of Raphine, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born September 9, 1921, in Rocky Point, he was a son of the late Sidney Benjamin Roberts and Sarah Ellen Thompson Roberts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Elizabeth Lewis Roberts; and a daughter, Frances Arlene Dowels.

Mr. Roberts was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard during World War II.

Surviving are his daughters, Juanita Elizabeth Beghtol and husband, John, and Lucy Janet Luniewski and husband, Hank; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery with Bishop Caputo officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista.
