Obituary for Max Oliver Markham Max Oliver Markham
Former Custodian, Outdoorsman, Was Covington Resident

Max Oliver Markham, 84, of 721 W. Jackson Street, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

He was born January 29, 1929 in Covington, a son of the late Joseph and Ossie Lee Markham Markham.

For a number of years Mr. Markham was employed as a custodian for the Covington School System. He was a avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Markham was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are his daughter, Melinda Markham and Gordon Edwards of Covington; one granddaughter, Christy Ledet of Homer, LA; three grandsons, Matthew P. Markham ; Zackery Markham and Corey Edwards, all of Covington; one great granddaughter, Amber Ledet of Homer, LA; one brother, Pete Markham and his wife, Billisue of Covington and one sister, Wilma Spangler of Clifton Forge and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in the Good News Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev Steve Noel officiating.

Following the service the family will receive their friends at the church.
