Mary Ann Goin Sales, age 72, of 969 Old County Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the home of her son.

Mary Ann was born June 24, 1940 in Clifton Forge to the late Thelmore Dewey and Bessie Jones Goin.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and was an avid hunter and fisherwoman in her younger years.

She is survived by her husband, Allen Bruce Sales of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Jane Sales Clauss and husband, Michael of Herndon; a son, William Kern Sales and wife, Dawn of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Betty Entsminger of Beckley, WV, and Nancy Williams of Lynchburg; three brothers, Dewey Goin of South Carolina, Robert Goin of Lynchburg, and Billie Goin of Alleghany County; four grandchildren, Jacob Sales, Grace Sales, Mary Clauss, and Sarah Clauss; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is in charge of arrangements.
