Obituary for Edward Lee (Fuzzy) Hoke Edward Lee (Fuzzy) Hoke
H. O. Canfield Retiree Dies After Fire At His Home

Edward Lee (Fuzzy) Hoke, 83, of 4704 Cartwright Lane, Covington, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 15, 2013.

He died at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, where he was receiving treatment following a fire at his home.

Mr. Hoke was born March 23, 1929, in Caldwell, WV, a son of the late Cecil and Nellie Burdette Hoke.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hoke, a daughter, Eva Lovena Hoke; one sister, Orpha Pittsenbarger, and three brothers, Howard Hoke, George Hoke, and Delbert Hoke.

He had retired from the former H. O. Canfield plant in Iron Gate after over 30 years with the company.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood and caring for his granddaughter, Mindy.

Surviving are four daughters, Betty Eugenia Bunch and her husband, Harry, and Emma Gibson and her husband, Danny, all of Covington; Edith Slater of Colonial Heights; and Eunice Ruff and Eddie Worley of Chester; one son, Edward L. Hoke, Jr. and Robin Bowman of Moneta; three granddaughters, Mindy Hoke of Moneta; Stacy and Tim Warren of Washington, DC; and Erica and Stephen Ogden of Pensacola, FL; four grandsons, David and Christine Smith of Troutville; Darius Liptrap of Ironto; Chris and Pam Ruff of Covington; Jason and Robin Slater of Chesterfield and two future step-grandchildren, Amber Sloan of Ferrum and William Bowman of Moneta; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Sheppard of Christiansburg, Thelma Morgan of Ronceverte, WV and Norma Buckland of Michigan; two brothers, Arnold Hoke of Clifton Forge and James Hoke of Ronceverte, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

A Joint funeral service will be held for Edward L. Hoke and his wife, Helen Parkins Hoke, Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Joey Sheppard officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
