Russell James Tucker, 72, of 6315 Uplands Road, Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his residence.

He was born February 13, 1942 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Estel and Marietta Wolfe Tucker.

Mr. Tucker retired in 1991 from the Tidewater Construction Company. He was a member of the Local 980 Labor Union.

Russell enjoyed all the outdoors had to offer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty T. Tucker, and also by two daughters and two brothers.

Surviving are his life companion of 33 years, Lisa Jones of Covington; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Diane Tucker of Greenville, SC and two daughters, Tammy Tucker and Greta Tucker, both of Covington.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Brown officiating.

The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
