Obituary for Jean Haynes Miller Jean Haynes Miller
Clifton Forge Native Was Iron Gate United Methodist Church Member

Jean Haynes Miller, age 84, of 802 Commerce Street, Iron Gate, Virginia, died Friday March 1, 2013 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.

She was born September 21, 1928 in Clifton Forge, a daughter of the late Ernest Persinger Haynes, Sr. and Patrel E. Fridley Haynes.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of the Iron Gate United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Cecil Miller in August of 2002; a brother; Ernest Persinger Haynes, Jr,, and a sister, Audrey Haynes Potts.

She is survived by a daughter, Cecilia Fender and husband, Ernie; a son, Timothy Homer Miller and wife, Lynda, all of Clifton Forge; two granddaughters: Michaela and Macie Miller; a niece, Nancy Potts Boone and husband, Lewis.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge, with the Reverend Virgil Woodie officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Lewis Boone, Ernie Fender, Jason Fender, Richie Fender, and Tim Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Meadows. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
