Shannon Briscoe Branche, 31, of Glasgow, Virginia, departed this life on Monday, April 1, 2013.

Born on July 25, 1981, in Lexington, he was the son of Charlie B. and Ella R. Branche.

He was preceded in death by two aunts, Marguerite R. Jones and Emma M. Branche.

Shannon graduated from Rockbridge County High School receiving a degree in Culinary Arts. He was a long-term employee of Natural Bridge Dining and Washington & Lee Sororities.

In addition to his parents, surviving are siblings, Christopher Branche and wife, Kimberly, Sophia B. Stevens and husband, Tyler A., and Laveeta Branche; nieces, Layla Cooper, Alissa Stevens, Christina Branche and Jessica Howe; nephew, Devonte Branche; great-niece, Hannah Vaughns (all were the loves of his life); uncles and aunts, Fred W. and Lillie R. Smith, Horace and Geneva R. Jones, Lewis and Joyce R. Twitty, Clinton R. Richardson, James E. Jones, Roberta B. Lyle, Robert and Elizabeth Branch, and Warren Baker Sr. and wife, Mary; and a host of great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Union Baptist Church, Glasgow, Va. Arrangements by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, Va., 540-261-5510.
