Obituary for Lina Minter Loan Lina Minter Loan
Retired Bath County School Instructional Aide Dies At Age 77

Lina Minter Loan, age 77, of 1393 Tunnel Hill Road, Millboro, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at The Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs.

Lina was born June 7, 1935 in Iron Gate, Virginia, to the late Houston and Florence Mae Defibaugh Minter.

She was a retired School Instructional Aide for Millboro Elementary School in the Bath County Public School System.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher.

She loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Burton Loan, Sr. in 1971; a daughter, Faye Hickman; a son, Donald Loan; and a grandson, Chris Loan.

She is survived by a daughter, Dreama Burns and husband, C. W. of Millboro; a son, James Burton Loan, Jr. and wife, Natalie of Millboro; a daughter-in-law, Carol Stiltner of Grundy; a son-in-law, Ted Hickman of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Tim Hickman and wife, Kim of Lexington, Missy Vanover of Grundy, Suzanna Paxton and husband, Eric of Millboro, Kade Hickman of Lexington, William Lee Burns of Millboro, Clint Burke and wife, Becky of Millboro and Chasity Burke of Millboro; ten great grandchildren, Abby Hickman, Olivia Hickman, Bethany Hickman, Kristofer Hawkins, Gabe Hawkins, Hayden Paxton and Macey Paxton, Mikayla Burke, Caitlin Burke and Zack Potter; and a special friend, Tina Loan of Millboro.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Calvary Memorial Cemetery, Millboro with Reverend John Haney officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call any time at Nicely Funeral Home.
