John Michael Snarr, 51, of Lexington, Virginia, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Va.

He was born December 16, 1961 in Hagerstown, Md., a son of John Maxwell Snarr and Dolores Hauser Snarr of Raphine, Va.

John was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Elizabeth Snarr.

He graduated from Rockbridge High School in 1985.

In addition to his parents, surviving are one sister, Teresa Lynn Snarr Van Name; two brothers, Maxwell Raymond Snarr and wife, Karen; Rocky Wayne Snarr; three nieces, Shane Yoder, Kelly Hickman, Jordan Snarr; two nephews, Ian Snarr, Tyler Snarr; two great nieces, Remington Hickman; Kimber Hickman; three great nephews, Kyle Van Name; Hunter Yoder; Mabry Snarr-Lyles.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Manly Memorial Baptist Church, with Dr. J. Michael Wilkins officiating. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Manly Memorial Baptist Church, 202 S. Main Street, Lexington, VA 24450 or to Heritage Hall Health and Rehab Center, 205 Houston Street, Lexington, VA 24450.
