Obituary for Calvin James Wade Calvin James Wade
World War II Veteran Was Former Hokins Furniture Company Employee

Calvin James Wade, 87, of 411 N. Beverly Street, Covington, Virginia, died Friday evening at The Woodlands in Clifton Forge.

He was born October 15, 1925 in Nelson County, a son of the late Walter and Sarah Davis Wade.

Mr. Wade served with the United States Army during World War II.

He was a former employee of the Hopkins Furniture Company in Alexandria for 23 years.

Mr. Wade was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ilda Fisher Wade in 2008, and also by two sisters.

Surviving are five daughters, Nancy Williams of Covington; Michelle Walker of Clifton Forge; Debra Sherrill of Warm Springs and Lorraine Fletcher and her husband, David of Tampa, FL, and Brenda Gibson and her husband, Bobby of Richmond; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Wade of Fredricksburg; one sister, Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Sonny Wiseman officiating.
