Michael Weldon Vest, 19, of 5120 Midland Trail, Covington, Virginia, died early Thursday morning, April 25, 2013 at his residence.

He was born June 9, 1993 in Alleghany County, a son of David W. and Lori Gooch Vest of Covington.

Michael was a member of the Junior class at Alleghany High School.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, John-David Vest of Charlottesville and Daniel Vest of the home; four uncles, Obie Vest and his wife, Melissa; James Vest and Stacey Deeds, all of Clifton Forge; David Norris of Seoul, Korea, and George Garner of Richmond; his special grandmother, Linda Fox of Covington, and caregivers, Susie Altizer, Michael Garcia and Polly Potter, all of Covington.

The family will receive friends at the residence of David and Lorie Vest at 5120 Midland Trail , Covington, VA 24426.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the graveside in Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Buddy Burks officiating.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, handled the arrangements.
