Obituary for Samuel Adolphus Fainter Samuel Adolphus Fainter
Rockbridge County Native Was U. S. Navy Veteran, Burlington Industries Retiree

Samuel Adolphus Fainter, 86, of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 26, 1926 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Jesse Calvin Fainter and Nora Victoria Fainter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty A. Fainter.

Sam served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from Burlington Industries after forty two years of service.

Surviving are two sons, Jeff Fainter, of Natural Bridge; Jonathan Fainter and wife, Sherri, of Maurertown, Va.; three daughters, Sharon Miller, of Glasgow; Angie Ansbach, of Lexington; Michelle McDaniel and husband, Richard, of Natural Bridge; two brothers, Lester Fainter and wife, Adna, of Lynchburg; Calvin Fainter, of Lexington; two sisters, Edna Mae Fainter, of Natural Bridge Station; Beulah Ann McFadden and husband, James, of Glasgow; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Glasgow Cemetery with the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Harrison Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Glasgow Fire Department, Route 130, Glasgow, VA 24555.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
