Obituary for Beatrice Adcock Salmons Beatrice Adcock Salmons
Former Shoe Box Employee Was Central United Methodist Church Member

Beatrice Adcock Salmons, age 95, of 519 Court Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her residence.

She was born October 30, 1917 in Esmont, Virginia, to the late Cleveland E. and Marsha Ragland Adcock.

She was a clerk for the former Shoe Box in Covington and a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she worked with the youth of the church.

She was a big sports fan and particularly loved the New York Yankees, Jimmy Johnson of NASCAR and the Pittsburg Steelers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey James Salmons in 1971; a son, Ronnie Lee Salmons; five brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Garringer and husband, Ben of Clifton Forge; a son, Dennis Salmons of Richmond; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Albert Broughman and Betty Jo Rhodes.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. There will be no formal services at this time.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Children's Department of Central United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 16, Clifton Forge, VA 24422, or to the Alleghany Humane Society, P. O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
