Mr. Ralph Thomas Carter, Jr., age 61, died at his residence. Mr. Carter was born June 30, 1951 in Covington, the son of the late Ralph Thomas Carter, Sr. and Mildred Baker Carter.

He was a graduate of Covington High School.

During his working career, Mr. Carter delivered newspapers for the Roanoke Times and worked for Hubbard's Farm and Supply.

He was of the Methodist faith and liked to read.

Mr. Carter is survived by one brother, Rickie Allen Carter of Covington; two sisters, Mildred Jane Carter of Covington and Mona Carter Roche and husband, William of Riva, MD; four nieces; one nephew; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mike Snider officiating.
