Homemaker Was Woodland Union Church Member

Hazel Ellen Ramsey Ford, age 98, of 1590 Blue Grass Hollow Road, Millboro, Virginia, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

She was born January 30, 1915 in Bath County, Virginia, to the late Moses and Susan Virginia Deeds Ramsey.

She was a homemaker and member of Woodland Union Church.

She loved her children and grandchildren, as well as gardening and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer P. Ford, Sr. in 1980; two brothers, Lloyd Ramsey and Ralph Ramsey; and a sister, Artena Ramsey.

She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Nelson of Millboro and Katie Broce and husband, Reid of Richmond; three sons, Homer P. Ford, Jr. of Fredericksburg, Ronnie Ford and wife, Phyllis of Fredericksburg, and Grover C. Ford of Millboro; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Woodland Union Church in Millboro with Reverend David George officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Millboro.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Clark, Jimbo Tennant, Harvey Plecker, Marty Plecker, Ricky Plecker, Junior Shinault, Tommy Black and Tommy Woods. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, and also one hour prior to the service at the church.

The Nicely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Woodland Union Church, 347 McClung Drive, Millboro, VA 24460.
