Obituary for H. L. (Bunny) Harrison H. L. (Bunny) Harrison
World War II Veteran Was Longtime Goodyear Tire Employee, Chittum Tire Service Manager

Mr. H. L. (Bunny) Harrison, age 85, of Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Woodlands, Clifton Forge.

He was the husband of Pauline Carver Harrison.

Mr. Harrison was born April 8, 1928 in Covington, the son of the late Newman S. Harrison and Rose Jacot Harrison.

He served his country as a member of United States Navy during World War II.

Bunny was employed by Goodyear Tire Company at the Chittum Tire Service, where he retired as store manager with thirty-seven years of service.

He was a member of First Christian Church where he has served his church as deacon. Bunny was a member of the Covington Jaycees. He enjoyed bowling and playing softball, but loved playing golf.

In addition to his wife of sixty years, Pauline Carver Harrison, Mr. Harrison is survived by three children, Nancy Leigh Ierna of Tierra Verde, FL, Cindy H. McPhail of Buford, GA and Allen Harrison of Covington; and three grandchildren, Byron C. Spradlin of St. Petersburg, FL, Alexis N. McPhail of Buford, GA and Heather Wilhelm of Austin, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by four brothers, Newman Harrison, Jr., Carroll Harrison, Frank Harrison and Richard W. Harrison.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating, assisted by Rev. J.B. Broughman. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Allen Harrison, Byron Spradlin, Brian McPhail, Pat Harrison, Randy Ierna and Jerry Whitehead.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 4:00 -5:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to First Christian Church, 231 E. Fudge Street, Covington, VA 24426.
