Obituary for Jo Ann Walker Deaton Jo Ann Walker Deaton
Central United Methodist Church Member Was Excellent Seamstress, Former My Sharee Clerk

Jo Ann Walker Deaton, age 85 of the Brian Center, formerly of 309 Alleghany St. Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Low Moor.

She was the last living member of her immediate family.

She was born December 1, 1927 in Hinton, West Virginia, to the late Orba Kade Walker and Gladys Meador Walker.

She was a retired clerk at My Sharee, Inc. in Clifton Forge.

She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge, where she was a member of the Church Choir and the Wesleyan Fellowship of the Church.

She was also an excellent seamstress who loved sewing and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Deaton in May of 2001, a son, David Allen Deaton, a sister, Mary Lou Wright, and a brother Donald Lee Walker.

She is survived by four daughters, Carole D. Kesler and husband, Danny of Craig County, Karen D. Buzzard and husband ,Donald of Clifton Forge, Gayle D.Doyle and husband, Pete of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Brenda Standley of Houston Texas; a daughter-in-law, Toni Deaton of Clifton Forge; seven grandchildren, Luke Kesler, Lindsay Kesler Taylor, Jason Buzzard, Erin Buzzard Claterbaugh, Rob Standley, Kevin Standley, and Ashley Deaton Byrd and twenty-one great grandchildren. Also a special friend Midge Whitt.

A funeral service was held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge with the Reverend Ned Alderman officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge Va.

Active pallbearers were Donald Buzzard, Jason Buzzard, Danny Kesler, Luke Kesler, John Claterbaugh and Rob Standley. Honorary pallbearers were Tom O'Meara, Jim Laughlin and Pem Hall. The family received friends Sunday evening at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the entire staff of the Brian Center for their loving care and support given to their mother. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 16, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422.
