Obituary for Larry Ellis Hosey Sr. Larry Ellis Hosey Sr.
Army Veteran Worked With Dressler & Sons Excavating And Paving Company

Larry Ellis Hosey Sr., 67, of 902 West Prospect Street died Friday, June 21, 2013, in Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem.

Mr. Hosey was born March 5, 1946, in Covington, Virginia, a son of the late Gordon and Armilda Wolfe Hosey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Hosey, Jr. in 1990 and a brother, Donnie Caldwell.

Mr. Hosey served in the Vietnam War with the United States Army.

He retired from Teddy J. Dressler & Sons Excavating & Paving in 2006.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Martha Sorbora Hosey of Covington, a son, Gordon R. Hosey and wife, Bertha of Covington, two grandchildren Stephanie Hosey and Stephen Hosey, both of Covington, one sister, Gwendolyn Teaford of Fincastle; three brothers, Richard Caldwell, Danny Caldwell, and Junior Caldwell, all of Low Moor, and a number of nieces and nephew.

The funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. June 25, 2013 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Elder James Arritt officiating.

The interment was made in Lone Star Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
