Obituary for Eileen (Tootie) Andrews Alfred Eileen (Tootie) Andrews Alfred
Was Office Manager For Life Of Virginia Insurance Company

Mrs. Eileen (Tootie) Andrews Alfred, age 83, of Covington, Virginia, passed Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Brian Center-Alleghany, Low Moor, where she took the Hand of her Savior and entered her Eternal Home.

She was the wife of the late Andrew Jackson Alfred, Jr. who preceded her in death on February 28, 1984.

Mrs. Alfred was born September 30, 1929 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Earl H. and Eileen Floyd Andrews.

She had a long career with Life of Virginia Insurance Company, where she retired as office manager.

Tootie was a lifelong member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving wherever there was a need. Because of her loving, caring church family, friends and neighbors, she was able to continue living in her home for many years.

Tootie is survived by her daughter, Tonda Angus and husband, George of Huntington, WV; her son, Drew Alfred and wife, Alice of Newport News; four grandchildren, Jason Angus and wife, Kristen, Kelly Beth Dangelo and husband, John, Andy Alfred and Sara Eileen Alfred; four great grandchildren, Abrianna Angus, William Angus, Sarah Beth Dangelo and Ella Dangelo; one brother, Earl Andrews and wife, Ruby; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim M. Smith officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Harris. Interment wfollowed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tommy Alfred, Butch Curtin, C.J. Entsminger, Ernie Fitzgerald, Jimmy Kincaid, Larry McCallister, Kevin Nicely, Wayne Perkins and Tommy Sibold, Sr.

The family received friends Friday morning from 11:00 a.m.. until service time at the church.

The family suggests that memorial tributes be made to Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church, 425 W. Main Street, Covington, VA 24426 or Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
