Obituary for Mark Allen McGaha Mark Allen McGaha
Covington Treatment Plant Operator Was Botetourt County Native

Mark Allen McGaha, age 54, of 1100 Venus Way, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at his residence.

Mark was born February 23, 1959 in Botetourt County, Virginia, to the late James Arthur and Johnnie Mae VanNess McGaha.

He was a treatment plant operator for the city of Covington and was a United States Marine veteran, having served for six years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward "Eddie" McGaha and a sister, Nancy McGaha Nicely.

He is survived by a daughter, Julia Denise McGaha of Shenandoah Junction, WV; a son, Mark Allen McGaha, Jr. and wife, Dawn of Roanoke; a sister, Rita Dunbar of Glen Wilton; a brother, James Gordon McGaha and wife, Barbara of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gordon Hammond officiating. Military honors will be provided by members of the United States Marines.

Following the service, his body will be cremated.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, and following the service, at the home of Eric and Melissa Drennen, 513 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge, VA.
