Korean War Veteran Was Retired Construction Contractor

Reginald Hubert (Moot) Bryan Sr., 79, of 621 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Woodlands of Clifton Forge.

He was born in Covington, Virginia, on July 23, 1934, a son of the late Albert T. and Nellie E. Dickson Bryan.

He was a retired construction contractor, and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Missouri, USS Iowa and USS Mississippi.

He was a good man who lived life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by a son, Reginald H. Bryan Jr., a stepmother, Edith Bryan and by two brothers.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Leigh Bryan; two sons, Christopher Scott Bryan and wife, Veronica and Patrick Lee Bryan, all of Norfolk; special niece, Lisa Bryan Deisher and her husband, Elwood of Clifton Forge; a daughter-in-law, Susan D. Bryan of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Christopher S. Bryan Jr. and wife, Cheryl, Daniel Rigney Jr., Patrick L. Bryan II and wife, Allison, Diane M. Bryan, Denise M. Bryan, Sasha L. Rigney, Marissa J. Rigney; three great grandchildren, Jack, Jake and Jermiah; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In keeping with his wishes, his body was cremated and there will be no services.

The family suggest memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Alleghany Highlands Division, c/o Karen Buzzard, 807 McCormick Boulevard, Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
