Obituary for Calvin Carden Saville Calvin Carden Saville
Eagle Rock Native Was Korean War Veteran, Hercules Machine Operator

Calvin Carden Saville, age 82, of 4101 Midland Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at his residence.

He was born May 20, 1931 in Eagle Rock, Virginia, to the late Hunter George and Lilye Reynolds Saville.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a machine operator for Hercules, Inc., retiring after thirty-three years.

He was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Callaghan Ruritans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Saville, Cleon Saville, and John Saville; and two sisters, Reba Padden and Rovena Bazzrea.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dilley Saville of Covington; a daughter, Donna Beirne and husband, Tom of Clifton Forge; a son, David Saville and wife, Carmen of Roanoke; two sisters, Genevieve Dunn of Clifton Forge, and Lisa Lockhart and husband, Keith of Covington; two brothers, Carroll Saville of Covington and Reginald Saville of Clifton Forge; five grandchildren, Dru Beirne, Kate Beirne, Patrick Saville, Matthew Saville, and Natalie Saville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Michael Fleenor officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

Pallbearers will be Dru Beirne, Patrick Saville, Matthew Saville, Kevin Martin, Buzzy Eggleston, Bruce Bazzrea and Johnny Bazzrea. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
