Obituary for Ronald Keith Terry Ronald Keith Terry
Korean War Veteran Worked With Hercules, Inc.

Ronald Keith Terry, age 79, of 824 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

He was born November 29, 1933 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late Brance E. Terry, Sr. and Myrtle Lee Vest Terry.

He was a laborer for Hercules, Inc.

During the Korean War, he served in the United States Navy as a Radioman 3rd Class aboard the USS Gwin, the USS Salem, the USS Newport News and the USS Des Moines under the 6th Fleet Command.

He was a member of the Burnside-Carpenter VFW Post 4299 and Epworth United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, DeLillian A. Tucker; and two brothers, Leroy E. Terry and Philip K. Terry.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Ann "Jo-Ann" Bingham Terry of Clifton Forge; a sister, Margaret O. Layman of Waynesboro; two brothers, Brance E. Terry, Jr. and wife, Sue of Covington, and James R. Terry of Scottsville; and thirty-four nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Jeannie Morgan, Linda Doyle, Kenneth Moore, Jeffery Moore and Debbie Carter.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Daniel Purdom officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Graveside military rites were conducted by members of the Burnside-Carpenter VFW Post 4299, who will also served as pallbearers.

The family received friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Burnside-Carpenter VFW Post # 4299 or to the Alleghany Humane Society, PO Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457 or to Epworth United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 190, Selma, VA 24474.
