VDOT Retiree Also Worked With Randy Hostetter Excavating Company

William Fremont (Bill) Knick III, 58, of Lexington, Virginia, died Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Born July 8, 1955 in Lexington, a son of the late William F. Knick Jr. and Nellie Whitmer Knick, Bill retired from VDOT after 32 years and was currently working as a foreman for Randy Hostetter Excavating.

He was a member of Mountain City Masonic Lodge, and the Collierstown Presbyterian Church, where he was serving as an elder.

Surviving are his wife, Stacey Jade Knick; son, William F. "Will" Knick IV and wife, Cassie; daughter, Harper Renee Knick; grandson, Piercen William Knick; two sisters, Kim Knick, Scottie Davis and husband, Gene; father-in-law, David Orr and wife, Donna, mother-in-law, Debby Gower and husband, Mike; sister-in-law Dr. Hiedi Orr and husband, Steve Cooper; brother-in-law, Jeremy Lawrence and wife, Megan; and many other family members.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Skip Hastings officiating. Burial will follow at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday October 8, 2013, at Harrison Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Collierstown Presbyterian Church, 31 Church Dr., Lexington VA 24450 or a charity of your choice.
