Hezekiah Settle Harris, 95, of 228 S. Marion Street, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at his residence.

He was born May 2, 1918 in Covington, a son of the late Settle and Lena Clark Harris.

Mr. Harris retired from MeadWestvaco after 40 years of service.

He was an active member of the Concerned Christian Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine Rose Harris of 73 years in 2010; a grandson, Kirk Harris and two sisters, Beatrice Hightower and Virginia Jackson.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, William and Tami Harris of Fredericksburg; one daughter , Lynne Waller of Covington; four grandchildren, Keenan Harris, Nickola Daniels; Jarrett Waller and his wife, Maryann and Kristina Harris, as well as eight great grandchildren and three nieces.

The family will receive their friends Monday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 Monday evening at the Arritt Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Concerned Christian Baptist Church with the Rev. William O. Hickman officiating. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum.
