Obituary for Dorothy Anderson (Dot) Pullen Dorothy Anderson (Dot) Pullen
Botetourt County Native Was Well-Known Local Volunteer

Dorothy Anderson (Dot) Pullen, age 89, of Hardy, Virginia, and formerly of Ingalls Street, Clifton Forge, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Runk and Pratt Nursing Home in Hardy.

She was born January 25, 1924 in Botetourt County, Virginia, to the late Thomas Godwin Anderson and Norma King Anderson.

She was a retired accountant for Westvaco Corporation and was a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elderess and Deaconess, and also sang in the choir.

She was a member of the Twilight Garden Club, a member and past president of the Clifton Forge Women's Club, and was an active volunteer at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Pullen in 2005.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Pullen Reynolds and husband, John of Penhook; a son, Eddie Pullen and wife, Robin of Kingsport, TN; five grandchildren, Anne Reynolds Terry and husband, Ken, Matthew Scott Reynolds, Eric Evans Reynolds and wife, Haley, Kate Pullen Hall and husband, Brandon, and Edward Andrew Pullen; five great grandchildren, Emma Terry, Olivia Terry, Alex Reynolds, Remy Reynolds and Lexie Reynolds; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
