Steven Wayne Burch Sr., 68, of Goshen, Virginia, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

He was born on August 3, 1945, son of the late James E. Burch Sr. and Margaret Louise Burch.

Mr. Burch retired from Augusta Correctional Center.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Beatrice Virginia Hinkle Burch; and a sister, Carol Venable.

Surviving Mr. Burch are his children, Steven Burch, of Buena Vista, Lori Burch Hall and husband, Troy Hall, of Lexington, and Sherry Burch Gibson and husband, David, of Buena Vista; a brother, James "Jimmy" Burch and wife, Patricia, of Buena Vista; and one special sister, Cindy Bitz and husband, Dwight, of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Robyn Burch, Sarah Burch Rosson, and husband, Jason, J.W. Burch, Ericka Burch, Austin Hall, Frahley Berry, and Autumn Hall.; three great-grandchildren, Savannah Lewis, Lukas Rosson, and Edan Rosson; as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Butch Grow officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the funeral home.
