Carroll Sue Lyons Beever, age 77, of 1809 Oakwood Drive, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at her residence.

She was born June 21, 1936 in Oak Hill, West Virginia, to the late Virgil and Genevieze Pettit Lyons.

She was a homemaker.

A lover of nature, Carroll was especially fond of Douthat State Park, The Blue Ridge Parkway and the mountains and rivers of the Alleghany Highlands.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Charles Beever in 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Randy Beever and wife, Suzanne of Hopkinton, RI and Phil Beever and wife, Andrea of Blacksburg; and a granddaughter, Jeannine Beever.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.

The family received friends on Thursday evening at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. There will be no formal service.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions in her memory to the Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway, P. O. Box 20986, Roanoke, VA 24018.
