Obituary for Joyce Copper Lawler Joyce Copper Lawler
Goshen Native Was Former Telephone Operator

Joyce Copper Lawler, 86, of 631 Commercial Ave, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at The Woodlands in Clifton Forge.

She was born July 15, 1927 in Goshen, a daughter of the late Harry and Nora Rose Copper.

Joyce was raised in the home of the former Arnold and Beulah Rapp.

Mrs. Lawler was employed with the former Clifton Forge-Waynesboro Telephone Company as a telephone operator.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Tillie Clark and Mary Hamilton, and a brother, Harry Copper.

Surviving are her husband Timothy R. "T.R" Lawler, Jr. of Clifton Forge; one daughter, Christy Seldomridge of Covington; one son, Jeff Swartz of PA; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; a foster daughter, Nora Trout of Columbia, SC, who was raised in the home, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held Tuesday October 29, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating. The interment was made Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family suggests that memorial donations may made to The Woodlands, Activity Fund, in care of Martha Rutter, 1000 Fairview Ave., Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
