Obituary for Jerry Lee May Jerry Lee May
Vietnam Veteran Was Retired Heavy Equipment Operator

Jerry Lee May, 68, of 589 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, November 1, 2013.

He was born March 21, 1945 in Bath County to the late Dennis W. and Iona Alderman May.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Branch Highways, Inc.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed football and Nascar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Kern and Betty May, and a brother, Jimmy May.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Kitt May of Clifton Forge, two daughters, Missy May Reynolds and husband, Donald of Iron Gate, and Shelly May Moser and husband, George Jr. of Clifton Forge; a sister, Sandra May of Hot Springs; two brothers, Roger May and wife, Virginia of Hot Springs, and Carl May and wife, Madge of Mountain Grove; two grandchildren, Hayden Moser and Cole Reynolds,; a sister-in-law, Ruth May of Buffalo Gap; and number of nieces and nephews, and also a special friend, Cassie.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Reverend Nathan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park.

Those serving as pallbearers will be George Moser, Jr. Donald Reynolds, Mark Kitt, Mike Simmons, Aaron Simmons, Glenn May, Danny Allen and Matt Booze.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge.
