Obituary for Doris Godsie Hagar Doris Godsie Hagar
Former Clifton Forge Goodwill Store Manager Was Iron Gate Methodist Church Member

Doris Godsie Hagar, age 84, of 21276 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at her residence.

She was born August 15, 1929 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late James Clarence and Lillie Maude Farris Scott Godsie.

She managed the Goodwill Industries store in Clifton Forge and was a member of Iron Gate United Methodist Church.

She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother, and enjoyed nothing more than cooking, and feeding her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Owen Hagar, Sr. in 2002; an infant daughter, Charlene Gwen Hagar; and nine brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three daughters, Dolores Hagar Clark of Botetourt County, Lynn Greene Weatherford of Hopewell, and Donna Hagar Mineiro of Bristow; two sons, Charles Owen Hagar, Jr. of Kentucky and Ricky Lee Greene and wife, Carrie of Indiana; twelve grandchildren, Valerie Strotman and husband, Kevin, Armando Mineiro and wife, Desree, Alyssa Wrobel and husband, Mike, Kristina Hagar, Angela Roth and husband, Doug, Charlene McMillion, Tammy Studley and husband, Greg, Derick Greene, Stephanie Greene, Brooke Greene, Josh Greene and Candace Greene; numerous great grandchildren; one great great grandson; a host of nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Cindy Slaughter, her husband, Roger and their sons, and Ramona Wells; and several dear friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Armando Mineiro, Mike Wrobel, Ricky Greene, Cody Slaughter, Preston Mineiro and Chuck Hagar. Dr. Luiz Mineiro will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family received friends on Friday evening at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to Capital Caring Hospice, 10530 Linden Lake Place, Suite 200, Manassas, VA 20109.
