Obituary for Dorothy Mae (Dot) Shelton Dorothy Mae (Dot) Shelton
West Virginia Native Was Former C&O Railroad Employee

Dorothy Mae (Dot) Shelton, age 92, of Scott Hill Apartments, 800 W. Ridgeway St., Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was born July 20, 1921 in Hinton, West Virginia, to the late Leonard and Betty Red Shelton.

She retired after many years in the dietary departments of the former Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital in Clifton Forge and Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, and continued to serve the community in various ways including in the League of Older Americans.

She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board and in the Willing Workers club.

She is survived by a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Red Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Preston Tyler officiating. Interment will follow.

There will be no formal visitation.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.
