Harry McDowell (Mack) Harrison, 83, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born March 20, 1930 in Buena Vista, a son of the late Claude C. and Ressie Harrison.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Scott Kendall Harrison and a stepson, Butch Breedlove; his brothers, Claude, Cecil, Maynard, and George.

Mack attended Parry McCluer High School and served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Harry was also a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church for many years, where he attended regularly, and he retired from Burlington Industries with 38 years of service.

Surviving are wife Lucille Ferguson Harrison; and a son, Robert McDowell Harrison Sr. and his wife Margaret; grandchildren, Robert Jr. and wife, Ashton of Lexington and Nathan and wife, Libbie of Charlottesville; and a granddaughter, Gabrielle, of Lexington; and a great granddaughter, Alexis; brothers, Ralph Harrison, of Buena Vista, Leo of Lynchburg; sisters, Virginia Spence and Myrtle Hunt of Buena Vista and Brenda Harrison of Waynesboro.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bryon LePere officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, but friends may gather with the family at Mack's home at 1104 Cherry Avenue, Buena Vista from 2 untll 5 p.m. on Sunday December 1, 2013.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista.
