Letha Sorrells West, 95, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Heritage Hall.

Born October 29, 1918 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Marvel Berry Sorrells and Julia Clark Sorrells.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. West; five brothers, Andy B. Sorrells, Matthew B. Sorrells, Bennett D. Sorrells, Henry C. Sorrells, Robert D. Sorrells; and one sister, Bertha Moore.

Mrs. West was a member of the Lauderdale A.R.P. Church and retired from TAP after many years of service.

Surviving are one son, Vincent West and wife, Dianne of Lexington; one sister, Madeline St. Clair of Eagle Rock; two grandchildren, Christy West Harris and husband, J.B.; Joshua West and wife, Hannah; one great grandson, Thor Harris; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Benjamin W. Dowling, III officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
