Hansford Leon (Hank) Sorrells, 71, of Raphine, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home.

Born April 8, 1942 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Al D. Sorrells and Lucy Coleman Sorrells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Ray Sorrells and Marvin Sorrells.

Mr. Sorrells retired from AMP in Mt. Sidney.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Gordon Sorrells; three children, Steven L. Sorrells and wife, Christy, Karen S. Jones and husband, Robert, Brandi S. Ervin and husband, Nathan "Shane"; six grandchildren, Steven H. Sorrells, Alison Jones, Kameron Jones, Landon Ervin, Adria Ervin, Kendall Ervin; special niece, Kirsten Vest; three siblings, Alma Marie Shaw and husband, William, Danny Sorrells and wife, Emily, Galen Sorrells and wife, Sheila; family by choice not by birth, Mac and Pat Sorrells, Early Tyree, Ralph Tyree, Alfred Tyree; stepfather-in-law, James Gibson; too many to name, but many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and family, who all loved and will miss him.

A memorial service will be conducted 7 p.m., Thursday December 12, 2013 at the Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Staton officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours before services at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista.
