Hercules Retiree And Member Of The Clifton Forge Moose Lodge

Lawrence Melvin Pritt, 71, of 512 Mount Pleasant Drive, Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

He was born June 3, 1942, in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late George G. and Della E. Vance Pritt.

He was retired from the Film Department of Hercules, Inc. and was a member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge, where he was in the Legionnaires of the Moose. He loved nature.

He is survived by a very special friend and companion, Alene Wilcher, of Clifton Forge; and other special friends, Mike and Diane Wilcher and family, Debbie Wilcher, Trevor Hager, and Bill and Susan Wilcher and family; two daughters, Donna Keyser and husband, Ronnie, of Covington, and Lisa Helton and husband, Howard, of Roanoke; a son, Steven Pritt and wife, Dana, of Covington; two sisters, Birdie Persinger, of Covington, and Nancy Williams, of Hot Springs; a brother, Floyd Pritt, of Roanoke; and five grandchildren, Miranda Keyser, Maddi Keyser, Jordan Helton, Sam Helton, and Ashley Kiebit; and a great-granddaughter, Sarrarie Kiebit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George Pritt, Roy Pritt, Clarence Pritt, and Ira Pritt.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Alleghany Highlands Division, c/o Karen Buzzard, 807 McCormick Blvd., Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.
