Tammi Carter Stewart, 51, of Lexington, Virginia, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at her home.

Born November 24, 1962, in Lexington, Virginia, a daughter of Jesse James Carter and the late Patricia Ann Myers Carter.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Carter.

Tammi was a member of the First Baptist Church in Natural Bridge.

Surviving in addition to her father are her husband, Leonard S. Stewart; one daughter, Sydney T. Thomas, both of Lexington, Viriginia; two siblings, Terri Sledd, of Newport News, Virginia, and Troy Hatcher, of West Virginia; and one nephew, Marcus Sledd, of Newport News, Virginia.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Lexington, with the Rev. Jay Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
