Nancy Ellen Slocum, 84, most recently of Blacksburg, Virginia, and currently a resident of Kendal at Lexington, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 15, 2013.

She is survived by her sister, Shari Cannon of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her four devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Carolyn Hornick of Roanoke, Steve and Jody Hornick of Salem, David and Sue Hornick of Manassas, Jay Hornick and Lynne Jenkins of Silver Spring, Md.; and three wonderful grandchildren, Rebecca and John Hornick and Eowyn Wadsworth.

A Celebration of Life service will take place after the first of the year.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
