Obituary for George Dale Morrison, Sr. George Dale Morrison, Sr.
West Virginia Native Was Longtime Greenbrier Hotel Banquet Steward

George Dale Morrison, Sr. of White Sulphur Springs, WV and Covington, Virginia, died December 26, 2013, at home after a brave battle with cancer.

He was born September 16, 1942 in Winona, WV, to George Henry and Gertrude Eva Houchins Morrison.

George Attended Nuttall High School in Fayette County.

He worked at The Greenbrier Hotel as a banquet steward for forty-two years until his retirement in 2004.

George attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church in White Sulphur Springs and Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Covington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, George Dale, Jr.; grandson, Hayden; and sister, Gloria Wood Wright.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Linda Jones Morrison; daughters, Tammy Teubert (Randy) of Frankford, WV and Anna Morrison of Murfeesboro, TN; sons, Robert (Marti) of Hillard, OH; Michael of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Matthew (Candy) of Ashland, KY; bonus son, Shawn Kersey; grandchildren, Joseph, Julianna, Jacob, Caleb, Gabrielle, Maggie, Gabe, Craig, Luna, Andrew, Katherine, Madeline, Addison and Joanna; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, White Sulphur Springs, WV, with Rev. Chris Thompson and Rev. Bob Gilman officiating.

The family received friends from noon until service time at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and also received friends at a reception held following the service at Keith W. Butler Memorial Hall.
