Obituary for Aram Iskenderian Aram Iskenderian
Longtime Newspaper Advertising Salesman Was World War II U. S. Navy Veteran

Aram Iskenderian, 86, of Lexington, Virginia, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his home.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y. on February 6, 1927, he was the son of the late Vahan and Kayane Iskenderian.

He was a graduate of New York University with a B.S. degree in commerce.

During his 40 year career in newspaper advertising sales, he worked for the World Telegram and Sun, Detroit News, and Los Angeles Times.

He served as president of the Board of Education in Lynbrook, N.Y.

He was also a World War II veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Iskenderian; a sister, Claire Mergian; a daughter, Anita Iskenderian; a son, Haig Iskenderian; and 6 grandchildren.

The family received friends 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Harrison Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice or to the Rockbridge Regional Library.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
