Gay Hottinger Marvin, 80, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014.

Born on May 13, 1933 in Pendleton, County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Isaac W. Hottinger and Lena Dove Hottinger.

Mrs. Marvin was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Daniel E. Marvin Sr., four sisters, three brothers, and a great-grandchild.

Surviving are her children, Daniel Marvin Jr., Jerry Marvin, Pamula Slagle, and Douglas Marvin; grandchildren, James Marvin, Thomas Marvin, Shaun Smith, Joey Smith, Mitchell Marvin, Michelle Martin, Matthew Marvin, Will Slagle, Joseph Slagle, and Zach Marvin; two sisters, Mae Harold and Kay Hammon; brother, Fred Hottinger; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. W. A. Mills and the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2013 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
