Korean War Veteran Was Self-Employed Carpenter

Alfred Ralph Brueck, age 82, of 802 W. Ridgeway Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor, Virginia.

He was born December 14, 1931 in Adams County, Indiana, to the late Marvin Brueck, Sr. and Florence Meyers Brueck.

He served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1954, during the Korean War, and was a self-employed carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Thompson and a brother, Marvin Brueck, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen L. Brueck of Clifton Forge; four daughters, Barbara J. Moore and husband, Mike of Batesville, OH, Brenda Hollingsworth and husband, Steve of New Philadelphia, OH, Beth A. Brown and husband, Tony of Cambridge, OH, and Bonnie Lee and husband, Stephen of Warm Springs, VA; twelve grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A private memorial service will be held. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions in memory of Al Brueck to Wyecliffe Bible Translators, PO Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling the arrangements.
