Alleghany County Native Was U. S. Army Veteran, Former Hercules Employee

Emmett Wayne (Junnie) Wright, Jr., 67, of 604 Jonestown Road, died, Friday, January 24, 2014 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born November 3, 1946 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Emmett W. Wright, Sr. and Carrie Louise Beckner Wright.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Tingler Wright in 2010, and also by a brother, Jerry Wright.

Mr. Wright served his county with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by the former Hercules, Inc. Emmett was a member of the NRA and was an avid fisherman.

Surviving are three daughters, Lorie Wolfe and Don Kirby of Covington; Virginia Wilson and her husband, David of Raleigh, NC and Jessica Mick and her husband, Lonnie of Covington; grandchildren, Gary Wolfe, Jr., Ashlie Kirby, Cory Mick, Taylor Mick, Tyler Mick, Cheyenne Mick and Kelsi Mick, all of Covington; one sister, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Arritt Funeral Home.

The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery with graveside rites being conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Memorial donations in Mr. Wright's name may be made to Boiling Spring Fire Dept. & Rescue Squad, 6407 Potts Creek Road, Covington, VA 24426.
