Obituary for Lillian Lee Lowman Fitch Lillian Lee Lowman Fitch
Former Halmode Employee Was Longtime First Christian Church Member

Lillian Lee Lowman Fitch, age 91, of 320 Church Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from Brian Center, Low Moor.

She was born April 11, 1922 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late George W. and Mary Elizabeth Lawson Lowman.

She was retired service personnel from Halmode of Covington and a long time member of First Christian Church D.O.C. of Clifton Forge.

She enjoyed crafts and crocheting, and especially loved the precious children in her life, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lillian was blessed with a close knit family who loved and cared for each other. Her sweet nature, smile and sense of humor will truly be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband A. Sidney Fitch, Jr., and six brothers and sisters: Clarence, Carl, Louise, Helen, Ida and James.

Surviving is her son, Tommy Fitch and friend Carol, and her daughter, Betty Griffin and husband, Allen; four grandchildren, Jonathan Fitch, Christopher Fitch, Cathy Crowder and husband, Tony, and Mary Huffman and husband, Gene; great granddaughters, Makayla Crowder and Madelyn Huffman; her twin sister, Lillie Shires and husband, James; a sister-in-law, Stella Lowman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Glenn Clements officiating.

Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Fitch, Christopher Fitch, Tony Crowder, Gene Huffman, Tim Tabor and Mark Brackenridge.

The family received friends Tuesday evening at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 320 Church St, Clifton Forge.
