Covington Native Was U. S. Army Veteran, CSX Transportation Signal Maintainer

Everett Lewis (Tuck) Tucker, Jr., age 63, of 19 Main Street, Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at his residence.

He was born November 27, 1950 in Covington, Virginia, to the late Everett Lewis Tucker, Sr. and Gerda Erna Riemann Tucker.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a retired signal maintainer for CSX Transportation, and an avid hunter, fisherman, and gun collector.

He loved telling stories and shooting pool.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kurt Raymond Tucker and Willie Lee Tucker, Sr., and a grandson, Dennis Lee Vess III.

He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Craft and husband, Lance of Covington, and Heather Gutshall and husband, Shane of Selma; a son, Christopher Brian Tucker, Sr. and wife, Julie of Glen Wilton; five sisters, Gertrude White and husband, Robert of Covington, Myrtle Drennen and husband, Jesse of Hot Springs, Patricia Tucker of Hematite, Carolyn Stuple and husband, Randy of Fincastle, and Deborah Worley and husband, Glenn of Glen Wilton; a brother, Joel Tucker of Roanoke; nine grandchildren, Kassidi, Kameron, Blake, Naomi, Phoebe, Chloe, Christopher, James and Taazha; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Joel Tucker officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
